Our Story
Buena Vista Canines story has many components that have led to this great adventure! Sydney's devotion started at a young age in the 4-H dog care and training project, where her passion was ignited with the support of amazing trainers and an impressive support team along with a once-in-a-lifetime dog, Amber. After a great foundation, Sydney started to show obedience and gained experience in several different organizations including UKC, ASCA, and AKC, where the team earned their CD in all three organizations before Amber's retirement.
As Sydney's passion grew so did the dog pack numbers. Bailey and Huey were the first dogs that were all hers and so were all of the challenges that came with a new puppy (Bailey) and a young dog (Huey a year later). Together they worked through behavioral challenges, training issues, aggression episodes, training milestones, and everything you could ever imagine.
Sydney's first two dogs taught her more than she could ever imagine along with all the challenges she could have asked for. Over their career together they trained in Rally, Obedience, Agility, and competed in Rally. Both dogs are retired but can be found enjoying short training sessions or on fun outings.
As with any growing trainer, a growing pack was only necessary. Porter was added to the family in 2022, with an 11-year gap from Bailey and a 9-year gap from Huey. Porter's a talented young puppy, the first puppy added to the pack that was raised as a performance puppy. The team's training together started early with many early puppy classes and socialization continuing into numerous advanced classes and workshops advancing their skills together. Porter has already accumulated several great accomplishments at a very young age and continues to excel in many aspects of his training and trialing.
The pack is always learning and growing in more than one way and always looking for better ways to strengthen their training skills and bonds. In addition to regular classes with training mentors, Sydney is also a recent grad of the Karen Pryor Academy and is now a KPA-CTP.
Sydney continues to show in ASCA and AKC as well as enjoying the pack as part of the family where they can often be found sitting under our feet when we are not out training.

Happy training!
